INTERNATIONAL School of Uganda completed a hattrick at the sixth Excel Insurance Independence swimming championships that took place last Saturday at their premises in Lubowa.

INTERNATIONAL School of Uganda completed a hattrick at the sixth Excel Insurance Independence swimming championships that took place last Saturday at their premises in Lubowa.

ISU was in total command in the annual swimming competition, finishing with 1649 points, followed by Aga Khan with 1619 points.

Kabira International School of Uganda was third with 1565 points.

Makerere University student Conrad Gaira, once again stole the show at the championship, rewriting his own national record in the 50-metre butterfly with a new time of 29.04 seconds. His previous mark was 30.28 seconds.

Kathleen Noble also set a new mark in the 50-metre butterfly 11-12 girls’ age category when she clocked 38.00 seconds beating Alexia Klonaridis’s record of 39.17 seconds.

The Aga Khan boys’ team in the 13-14 age group set a new mark in the 200-metre medley relay with a time of 2:36.92, beating ISU’s previous mark of 2:38.50.
