TOP clubs URA, Express, SC Villa and KCC are yet to sign the Gtv Super League agreement. Clubs have been given a deadline of 5pm today.

FUFA publicist Rogers Mulindwa yesterday confirmed that only eight clubs had signed the document, showing their interest in the Super League. The impasse is likely to delay the kick-off slated for November 2.

Those who have signed include Masaka LC, CRO Mbale, Kinyara, Nalubaale, Biharwe, Bunamwaya, Iganga and Victors.

Mulindwa declared today as the deadline for other teams to append their signatures to the deal. “For those who have not signed, we are giving them only tomorrow,” warned Mulindwa in a press conference yesterday.

Gtv, who intend to telecast the league, offered FUFA a five-year sh8.3bn deal. Each club in the 18-team league is entitled to sh36m in quarterly installments.

The clubs are expected to sign to pave the way for league media-rights’ owners GTV to start paying them ahead of the kick-off. The first quarter was supposed to have been released on October 15.

r FUFA will offer part of their Sunday Super Cup gate collections towards the flood victims in the north and eastern Uganda, adds Norman Katende.
League champions URA will take on Kakungulu Cup holders Express FC at Namboole.
