Even among the opposition it was an open secret that Ssematimba’s candidature was insurmountable.
He had a track record that spoke volumes and no amount of mudslinging could derail the electorate. Ssematimba reminds me of President Museveni’s analogy of a beautiful girl who had been made dirty by her stepmother and her ugly daughter whom she had tried to make look beautiful.
The suitors were able to notice the sparkling beauty behind the beautiful girl’s dirt! The lesson for the NRM, and all the electorate is that the personality of a candidate is a very big asset that should be studied very carefully.
