Dear Doctor,
I have had headaches for the past three months especially in the evenings. The doctor told me I was not sick. He advised me to drink a lot of water but this is not helping much. I am worried.

Dear Jonathan,
THE most common type of headache is a tension headache. It typically comes on after some form of activity. Individuals who get these headaches have an increased sensitivity to pain.

The headaches usually last about four to six hours and may be chronic or episodic. You need to slow down because these symptoms are associated with stress.

Make sure you are getting enough sleep. Have your meals on time. Avoid poor posture, excessive caffeine intake and straining of the eyes.

Pain killers such as aspirin, may he useful though overuse may lead to some undesirable side effects. Relax, you will get better.
