Charlotte Kemigyisha, who has been uganda telecom’s corporate brand manager, has landed a bigger deal with power distributor UMEME. Charlotte, who has also been acting marketing manager for utl since the departure of Levi Nyakundi to Zain last year, will be in charge of corporate communications, a new portfolio at UMEME.
The company has come under quite some fire in the recent past, but with the entrance of new shareholders, ACCESS, they apparently intend to be as transparent as possible. Part of Charlotte’s brief is to diffuse any animosity between UMEME and customers by giving the public an understanding of the company and how it operates.
Meanwhile, we are reliably informed that utl has ‘imported’ a new marketing director, Mona Lisa Brookshire, from the USA. She will take over the marketing and product development functions of the organisation.
Brookshire is apparently highly experienced in the telecom business, having worked with some of the world leaders in the industry. She has been at her Rwenzori Courts-based office for about a week.
