MUKONO - A 30-year-old man was on Thursday sentenced to 10 years in Luzira Prison for killing his wife. James Alele of Wakyale village, Nyenga sub-county, was convicted of manslaughter by Mukono chief Magistrate Tom Chemutai.

Prosecutor Barbra Kawuma told court that Alele strangled Suzan Birungi on June 9 during a domestic fight.
Alele had told his neighbours that his wife just collapsed and died. But a postmortem examination confirmed that the deceased was strangled. Alele pleaded guilty and asked for leniency.
