G4S Pirates’ hard-fought victory over fancied uganda telecom Kobs left them nurs¬ing injuries but that has not eroded their newly found confidence ahead of a cru¬cial Super 8 Rugby League tie with MTN Heathens tomorrow.

Captain Moses Soita, Brian Makalama, Dan Canowira and Oscar Opio who took knocks in the highly physi¬cal encounter last Saturday are undergoing daily physi¬otherapy but resumed light training yesterday.

“We have been resting but we must come back on Saturday and fight to become champions. This is a very important game and my teammates know we can make it. We will work hard for victory,” Soita remarked before yesterday’s training.

Bobby Babigamba who did not feature in the last game due to a tight work schedule upcountry will be available tomorrow.

Heathens and Pirates are level atop the table with 50 points, with defending champions Kobs three points adrift.

If Pirates win they will be champions in waiting because their last game of the league is against medio¬cre side Toyota Buffaloes.

Victory for Heathens will not assure them the title because they still have a hard game against Kobs on the final day.

A draw between Heathens and Pirates will see Kobs back in contention if they win their game against Mongers in Entebbe. Such a scenario will see all three contenders go for their last game level on 52 points.
