Edwin Mugisha has qualified for the world scrabble championship due in Malaysia in November after beating Richard Geria with just a single cumulative point. Although Geria won the final qualifiers in Jinja, he failed to win all the 18 games expected of him.

Striker Thomas Opio’s goal on 19 minutes opened the flood gate as Wanainchi hockey clubs walloped Rockets 4-1 in the league at the Lugogo over the weekend. Godfrey Mandela contributed two more goals and Derrick Akuwa did the wrap up in the 66th minute for Wanainchi to stay top of the table standings.
