Last year, the Senator Cultural galas pulled crowds upcountry, with very interesting drama contests. Back again, this time the winning participating cultural groups will get a cash prize of sh25m.

The first regional launch was held in Jinja on Saturday and will be followed by a series of other launches which will culminate into the district and later regional cultural galas.

The 20-district galas will begin in Luweero and Iganga on October 24 and end in Apac on November 22. The five regional events will begin in Arua on November 28 and end on December 21 in Mbale. Speaking at last week’s media launch, Pamela Bayenda, the brand manager, Senator Lager said: “Our diverse cultural norms have continued to be the backbone of Ugandan communities. We cherish our culture and heritage through language, way of life, cultural norms and practices but more so enjoy celebratory moods and festivities that express these roots.”

Nile Beat Artists have been contracted by Senator Lager to manage the galas.
