Unknown thugs on Tuesday burgled the Uganda Human Rights Commission offices on Buganda Road. However, they were interrupted when a guard heard the break-in and fired in the air. The thugs, who had accessed the office where complaints, and compensation files are kept, were forced to flee. The thugs are said to have made off with a computer hard disk. They had also disconnected several computers in the office.

Trader’s bail review denied
KAMPALA
Court has dismissed an application by Justus Kashoma, a city businessman accused of stealing sh985.9m from Stanbic Bank, to have his bail reviewed. Buganda Road Court judge Francis Kobubushe yesterday said the application was filed before a wrong court. Kashoma wanted his two land titles returned, saying his charges were reduced to theft.
