OVER 300 internally displaced persons have got a milling machine and scholastic materials worth sh300m from Canada Rotarians . 12 Rotarians from Canada delivered the items to Koch-Kalang and Koch-Koo parishes in Amuru and Gulu districts.

The materials included books, playing kits, writing materials, 20 wall clocks and sporting gear. The Rotarians were on a one-week tour and working mission in Acholi sub-region to find out the areas potential for aid.

The Koch-Koo Primary School headteacher, Alice Awilo-Opobo, while receiving the items on behalf of her 457 pupils, said the school desperately needed the items.

“You have really brought these items as if you knew our problems. These are part of the essential items and learning materials our school needs,” Awilo-Opobo said. The Rotarians were led by Ben Omara, who delivered the learning materials to the benefiting schools.

The president of Gulu Rotary Club, Grace Amono, cautioned the people of Koch-Kalang to be united and form a committee that will run the mill.
