THE education sector stands to benefit from the ongoing economic growth and oil discovery, the new director of Kampala International School (KISU) has predicted.

“Uganda is growing fairly well and this continues to bring in a number of multinationals whose staff require education facilities for their kids,” Ian Williams said.

Williams was presenting KISU’s new 14-acre campus to parents and prospective parents at a cocktail at Kampala Serena Hotel.

The Bukoto campus, which cost about sh12b to construct, is an addition to Kampala Parents Primary School owned by the Ruparelia Group.

It boasts of four hi-tech science laboratories, multimedia-enabled classrooms, three computer laboratories, a swimming pool and two amphitheatres.

The new school accommodates up to 1,500 students from the previous 500 and offers both the Cambridge curriculum and IB Diploma.

Williams also dispelled the notion that international education is only for expatriates’ children, arguing that the nature of the curriculum prepares the students for real challenges in life.
