THE Catholic Church has taken over three orphanages founded by the late Sr. Rose Mystica Muyinza

THE Catholic Church has taken over three orphanages founded by the late Sr. Rose Mystica Muyinza, reports Henry Mukasa.

Muyinza, who founded Daughters of Charity in 1971, died on October 8.

In her will, the nun bequeathed the management and properties of the charity to the Catholic Church.

The Archbishop, Dr. Cyprian Lwanga, appointed the Vicar General of Kampala Archdiocese, Charles Kasibante, as the new patron of the charity.

The charity’s orphanages are Mother Kevin Home at Kiwanga in Mukono, St. Michael Children’s Home at Nsambya in Kampala and Sabina Home for Orphans in Kakuuto, Rakai district.

Dr. John Chrysostom Muyingo, the vice-chairman of the board of trustees, introduced Kasibante to the management and children of the homes during a memorial mass for Sr. Rose at Kiwanga on Sunday.
