URA 2 Nalubaale 1

COACH Dorian Marin received a baptism of fire as URA beat his Nalubaale side 2-1 in a Super League game at Namboole yesterday.

Marin’s decision to play a high-tempo game saw his side take the lead in the 12th minute with a Jamil Kasiita free-kick from the edge of the box.

But his decision to field second-string defenders Jerome Mashaka, Kasiita, Aziz Mugonza, Aziz Mubiru and Patrick Waligo let him down.

Marin deployed marksman Hamis Kizza in a deeper midfield role and left veteran David Kiwanuka to tussle it out alone upfront.

URA’s Martin Muwanga took advantage of Nalubaale defenders’ indecision over an aerial ball to head home with only four minutes to the end of the first-half.

Upon resumption, the physically exhausted Nalubaale players often ignored Marin’s instruction to increase the pace.

URA then went on rampage before Joram Katende drove home the winner with a well-executed shot in the 50th minute.

He would have picked his second and third had Nalubaale keeper Morgan Ojok not twice stopped his goal-bound shots.
