EDITOR—The government of kenya appears to have engaged reverse gear. The agreement reached at the mediation table before former United nations chief Koffi Annan and President Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania should be honoured by all the parties involved, void any bias and/or hypocrisy.
It has been common and easy for the Kenyan leaders to sign pacts and agreements which they easily disown later. It happened in the days of President Jommo Kenyatta and the Kenyan hero Jaramogi Oginga Odinga in the 1960s.
It also happened between the former President Daniel arap Moi and Raila Odinga in 2000/01. It also yet again happened between President Mwai Kibaki and Raila Odinga in 2002. Kenyans want peace and the parties involved have to honour the agreement reached between them. In order to avoid more problems for Kenyans, the agreement must be honoured.
