AT his 53rd birthday party at Lubiri Palace, Mengo, on Sunday night, the Kabaka, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi rose up to Afrigo Band’s Omutanda Gyali Ateredde and beckoned the Nnabagereka onto the floor.

He danced to the ululations of his guests, as he was joined by a number of couples, including the Vice-President, Prof. Gilbert Bukenya, and his wife Dr. Margaret, the Katikkiro JB Walusimbi and wife and his counterpart from Busoga, Wasswa Balunywa, businessman Gordon Wavamunno, James Mulwana and others.

On arrival with the Nnabagereka, the jovial Kabaka shook hands with almost everyone, making jokes and comments.

Realising that he had left out many, the Kabaka was at it again after dinner, reaching out to the backbenchers, many of who abandoned their food to shake hands with the king.

The Kabaka also surprised the organisers when he rose up to cue for food at the serving tables.

He retired after 11.30pm after being entertained by artiste Desire Luzinda, Sophie Nantongo, Ronald Mayinja, Mathias Walukagga, Infinity Dancers, Afrigo and Mitz Bands.

Several prominent politicians and businessmen, diplomats, members of the royal family and Kabaka’s chiefs attended.
