THE number of accidents caused by boda-boda riders or involving boda-bodas in Kampala is soon outnumbering those involving motor vehicles! Whereas I appreciate the role played by boda-bodas in beating the ever-present traffic jams in town and being able to take us to our destinations in time, the rate at which people (both cyclists and passengers) are dying in preventable accidents is alarming!

The riders don’t respect traffic lights and never think about other road users. they ride in the middle of the narrow lanes and assume they have the right of way all the time! What is the police doing about this? Do these riders have licences?

Do they have any training in riding and using the road? Please save Ugandans from this menace!

The Police have brought some degree of sanity to Kampala city streets. However, they have totally failed to tame the boda-boda riders! The cyclists are extremely reckless traffic officers seem only to be interested in cars!
