BUSAANA sub-county in Kayunga has acquired solar panels and other equipment worth sh10m to boost their efforts in simplifying the execution of duties and improving on service delivery.

The sub-county chairman, Matayo Wesonga, said the panels were acquired using funds from the Government under the Local government Development Programme for the year 2007/08.

While meeting the resident district commissioner, Margaret Baryehuki, and other district officials, Wesonga explained that the sub-county staff faced many problems while carrying out their duties because the area was remote and had no electricity.

The officials were monitoring government programmes in lower local councils.

The panels are used to light up the sub-county headquarters. Wesonga said after improving the working conditions, he expected the performance of the civil servants to improve to the required standards.
