When Club Rouge was launched a few years ago, it hit the club scene with the force of a hurricane, attracting the kind of clientele that any club would kill to have - the ones with loose purse strings like foreigners and diplomats.
Snoops claim the club soon caught the shrewd eye of businessman Sudhir Ruparelia, who reportedly offered an attractive package to proprietor Ali Alibhai to sell. Alibhai reportedly turned down the offer, preferring to hold on to his lucrative club. Now we hear Sudhir, who never quite put the matter to rest recently took over the Plaza, the building that houses Rouge (as well as cascades and Bank of Baroda).
Does that bring him a step closer to owning Club Rouge or will they remain mere tenants? Watch this space.
Is Sudhir eyeing Rouge?
