Low sexual desire
Dear Total Man, I have stayed with my girl friend four years now but she has a very low sexual urge. I have tried to provide all comforts. Is this a medical problem? WEK
Dear WEK,
It is known that some people have very low sex drives. It is ideal for a couple to have similar sex drive so they don’t have any problems. Otherwise, one person has to adapt to the other’s sex drive.
But there are conditions which may decrease sex drive. Physical problems include anaemia, alcohol use or abuse, drugs, some hormone conditions, and major diseases like diabetes.
Psychological conditions contributing include previous bad experiences of sex, depression, sex abuse, difficult conditions and no liking for the mate.
Have you talked to the lady? Does she know there is a problem? Try to make a plan together about it. She should see a doctor to rule out a physical problem and to asses the psychology problems. Get counselling together. You will most likely be able to come to a solution.
