LUWEERO - The embattled former presidential adviser, Elizabeth Nabatanzi, has sued five local leaders for the recent termination of her service. In a high court civil suit, Nabatanzi, whose contract was terminated in May, wants compensation of sh100m from the defendants on whom she blames her ordeal. They include Livingstone Nyakairu, Erasmus Mugerwa, Martin Sempereza, Mubiru and Sembatya Mugalu. According to a letter attached to the suit, Nabatanzi was removed from office following a May 3 directive from the President’s office.

Wife jailed for killing husband
KAMPALA - A woman, who admitted to killing her husband, was on Tuesday sentenced to three years in jail. Teddy Nalukwago, 44, killed Juma Matia Ruzoza, in a domestic row at their home in Bukusu village. Court heard that in December 2005, the couple fought over the control of family property, resulting into a fight in which Nalukwago hit her husband on the head.
