EMMANUEL Cardinal Wamala and Busoga Diocese Bishop Michael Kyomya were among the hundreds of people who flocked Parliament yesterday, to view the body of Kyabazinga Henry Wako Muloki.

Many people described Muloki as a person who worked for unity and the development of his people and the nation as a whole.

They added that he had died at a time when he was needed most.
Wamala urged the Basoga to stick to the kingdom constitution while electing Muloki’s successor to avoid chaos.

He said the Basoga were known to be people who stick to rules and were not bound to break them.

“Their constitution says that the five clans shall choose a replacement. I urge them to sit together and decide in accordance with their constitution.”

“We cannot question God’s plans, but I call upon those who want to replace him to work for the same values.”

Kyomya described Muloki as a dedicated Christian who used to guide him.

People’s Progressive Party leader Bidandi Ssali urged the Basoga to shun electing the new Kyabazinga basing on political affiliations but consider one who will unite the region.

Democratic Party president John Ssebaana Kizito thanked President Yoweri Museveni for caring for the Kyabazinga in his last times as a good friend.

He implored the President not to go for the burial, saying his presence would disorganise the occasion and influence many things. “I heard that the Government wants to influence the heir to the throne. They should let the Basoga sort themselves out.”

Electoral Commission chairman Badru Kiggundu appealed to the Basoga to love and respect one another. Former Busoga prime minister Wasswa Balunywa broke down in tears when approached for comment.
