Pastor Samuel Kakande of the Synagogue Church of all Nations has refuted media reports that he ran mad and was admitted at Butabika Hospital.

Kakande yesterday called The New Vision from Nairobi in Kenya, where he said he had gone to buy agricultural equipment.

He also issued a statement challenging The Red Pepper, a daily tabloid, that published the story, to provide evidence that he was admitted at the mental hospital.

“The story has no iota of truth. It is disturbing that on Thursday last week, the day that The Red Pepper quotes as when I ran mad, I spent it praying for many congregations as usual,” he said.

“Then the false allegation that I never attended the Sunday services is also baseless, owing to the fact that I led Sunday prayers.”

The tabloid alleged that Kakande ran amok while at his plush mansion in Muyenga and uncontrollably smashed all that he could lay his hands on.

It further reported that Kakande’s believers suspected that he could have been attacked by a deadly demon and that he is a victim of witchcraft.

Kakande urged his followers not to be detracted by the reports but to remain committed to God’s calling.
