A TEAM of 36 scouts will participate in the annual East African Scouts Competition in Morogoro, Tanzania.

The Boy and Girl Scouts, aged between 15 and 18 years, were accompanied by the national executive commissioner of the Uganda Scout Association, Richard Okello and the assistant commissioner of programmes in the association, George Onep.
They were on Sunday flagged off by the chief commissioner, Dr. Maggie Kigozi.

The Girl Scouts senior side comprises students from Holy Cross Lake View while the Boy Scouts are from Good Heart Senior Secondary School in Jinja. This team is the title holder for the junior category, which they won in Kenya last year.

This year’s Girl Scouts junior side is composed of students from Anyeke Primary School while the boys are from Barmwony Primary School, Apac district.

The competition, which is based on making friendship, acquiring life skills, sanitation, politics and family education, will attract participants from Rwanda, Burundi and Ethiopia.
These were the scouts who excelled in the national scouts competition on August 15.

Next year’s competition will be held at Kaazi in Uganda.
