SC VILLA hope that Kenyan striker Oscar Kadenge regains his form in the Super League tie against City Lads at Namboole today.

The 2004 league champions will still look to Kadenge, whose performance has been limited by a nagging right ankle injury.

“Kadenge is improving. We hope he will have fully recovered by the time of the match. We will observe him in the final training session,” assistant coach Ibrahim Kirya commented.

Adding that: “We want all three points but City Lads is a difficult team. They beat Express and big teams have struggled against them.”

Victory for Villa will see them consolidate their position at the top of the table.

While Villa welcomes back defenders Najib Yusuf and Tony Ndolo from suspension, they will miss left-back Joram Katende, down with malaria.

League top-scorer Benson Ocitti with four goals will lead City Lads’ bid for an upset.

At Nakivubo, army side Simba will face off with Maji in a mid-table clash.

Meanwhile, dust seems to be settling at troubled Express with players resuming training at Wankulukuku on Sunday.

Express chairman Sam Kiwanuka, who faces a vote of no confidence from fans, has provided allowances and boots.

Express administrative secretary Farouk Ssimbwa disclosed that fans were yet to hand in a petition seeking to oust Kiwanuka.

“They haven’t delivered the petition to me today (yesterday) as they had promised. The chairman wanted to respond to it before he leaves the country. We are going on with our work as usual,” Ssimbwa remarked.

Tomorrow has KCC hosting Bunamwaya while Friday has Masaka away to Kinyara, Simba at home with Express and Boroboro at Mbale Heroes.
