Nkokonjeru Hospital gets X-ray machine

ST. Francis Hospital, Nkokonjeru has received its first X-ray machine in 30 years of operation.

ST. Francis Hospital, Nkokonjeru has received its first X-ray machine in 30 years of operation, reports Joel Ogwang.

Assist International, a humanitarian organisation based in California, USA, donated items worth at least sh400m to the hospital in Mukono district.

The x-ray and ultra-sound machines, intensive care computerised monitors, a scanner and computerised cardiac monitor, were donated through Mukono Rotary Club.

Dr. Rogers Kabuye, the hospital’s specialist surgeon, said: “We have been referring patients to Mulago and Kawolo hospitals for X-ray services.” He said the hospital serves over 130,000 patients in and around Buikwe sub-county.

The president of the donor group, Robert Pagett, hailed the achievement.
