SEYANI Brothers has won a $250,000 (about sh462.5m) deal to construct a sports complex at the Uganda Christian University (UCU) in Mukono.

Vincent Mugaba, the UCU spokesman, said recently that the complex will be used for the inter-university games in December.

He said the first phase will comprise a track and field, volleyball courts and a provision for indoor games.

“The levelling of the playing area has already started.

“It should be ready by December when the games kick off,” Mugaba said.

He added that the facility would be graded to meet the international Olympic standards.

Mugaba disclosed that the second phase will have a pavilion.

He explained that staging a successful event would woo many students to the university.

“We are praying that all goes as planned. There are students interested in developing their sports careers and we could be the answer to their desires,” he said.
