ENTEBBE Airport was on Saturday night thrown into chaos as professional boxer Kassim Ouma returned from the US. Ouma, who left the country in 1997, could not hide his excitement on seeing the frenzied crowd that greeted him.

“The Boy is Back, The Boy is Back,” he yelled after arrival on an 11:5am Kenya Airways flight.

Ouma was after a brief press address in the VIP Lounge besieged by the crowd as he walked into the parking yard.

“Our champ, Our champ,” the big crowd chanted. Fans climbed over the railing, ignoring the baton-wielding Police. Ouma was at one point wrestled to the ground.

Airport officials who attempted to bring order were shoved, elbowed and trampled upon as the crowd surged towards Ouma.

Singer Juliana Kanyomozi, who last year declared her love for the boxer, also got her share of the confusion. Hardly had she handed over the bouquet than she was thrust away.
