Coke schools' team for Kenya tour

THE Coca-Cola Schools Cup select team is scheduled to depart today for a Kenyan tour this weekend. The team, handled by coach Mike Mutebi, will play against the Kenyan Combined XI at Nairobi’s Nyayo stadium on Saturday.

THE Coca-Cola Schools Cup select team is scheduled to depart today for a Kenyan tour this weekend. The team, handled by coach Mike Mutebi, will play against the Kenyan Combined XI at Nairobi’s Nyayo stadium on Saturday.

The team of 26 was picked during the national post-primary football championship in Jinja last Saturday.

The tour is catered for by Century Bottling Company Ltd., the sponsors of the annual Coca-Cola Schools Cup.
The tour is meant to give exposure to the promising talent, according to Coca-Cola demand creation manager Kennedy Mutenyo.

“It is all about building seeds in Ugandan football, and rewarding performance,” explained Mutenyo.

While in Nairobi, the Ugandan team will visit the Coca-Cola regional headquarters, according to the tour organisers.

The team, managed by Chris Mugisa, includes five from champions St. Mary’s Kitende.
Full team: E. Mubiru, G. Buule, C. Ntambi, G. Walusimbi and M. Mutyaba.
Others are J. Kalumba, A. Buteera, F. Ssentongo, E. Nkugwa, S. Galiwongo, N. Muganga, M. Ali, G. Buni and G. Opio I. Sebatindira, R. Mugerwa and I. Bukenya.
Also in the team are D. Guuma, P. Wanoko, M. Ssali, I. Sadam, F. Inziku, E. Kasujju (Royal Giant). A. Kalibbala, I. Kizza and F. Loum are also on the team.
