IGANGA - The Police are holding a 65- year-old man over defiling a 10-year-old girl. James Waliyogo is said to have lured to his home in Lugolole on Tuesday evening. District Police chief Christopher Okwerite said a medical examination report showed that the victim had been defiled. He said the girl’s mother found Okwerite molesting her. He was arrested after the mother raised an alarm, which alerted the village authorities of the incident.

Two charged with murder

JINJA - Two men believed to have beaten up another man to death over alcohol have been charged with murder. Yonah Kyotaite and James Sande beat up Drake Naiwano of Busedde village on June 18, over accusations that he drank their waragi. They were not allowed to enter plea as the offence can only be tried by the High Court. Grade one magistrate Godfrey Ngobi remanded them in Kirinya prison.
