SIR — I read with delight on Monday that The New Vision will soon start a television and radio station in Kampala.
I think this is a great innovation because increasingly there is thirst for information.

Despite the fact that Uganda has over 24 television channels and about 50 radio stations, not all give quality information and entertainment. Besides, not all are accessible in and around Kampala.

The New Vision
is Uganda’s most read newspaper and having both a radio and TV will definitely boost listernership and quest for information. It also means more jobs especially in the communications field. less communication graduates will walk Kampala’s streets.

The New Vision
should endeavour to employ trained journalists to deliver quality, as it has always done.
