RVR unveils sh2b IT plan
KAMPALA
Rift Valley Railways (RVR), the concessionaire for the Kenya-Uganda railways, has unveiled a Ksh114m (sh2.85b) information technology package. According to a statement, the package, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution, will be used for efficient utilisation of resources.
During the commissioning of the package, RVR’s chief executive officer, Roy Puffet, said the new ERP solution would provide online support for the concessionaires’ operations.

Akright to develop locals
KAMPALA
Products produced within Akright’s Kakungulu estate or 2km around the estate will be financed and marketed by Akright through the Community Accelerated Development Scheme. Environment minister, Maria Mutagamba, said: “You need to tap resources around you in order to raise your standards of living.” The scheme targets people involved in activities like brick-laying and metal fabrication.
