EDITOR—Lately, some opportunistic Ugandans have come out under the umbrella of being homosexuals and purporting to be fighting for recognition by the Government of Uganda. Sadly, this group seems to be supported by our donors and development partners.
That is why the government has not had them arrested and prosecuted according to the law of the land.
My humble appeal to our donors is that many Ugandans would like them to respect our culture, tradition, moral and religious values on top of respecting our country’s law which criminalises homosexuality in Uganda.
Please do not subtly impose homosexuality on Uganda as a condition of granting us the much-needed aid like the promoters of this practice believe. Uganda is a poor nation which has almost nothing to show to the rest of the world apart from our humble but rich cultural and moral values. I beg that nobody takes this away.
Uganda’s cultural values deserve respect
