MOST interviews with upcoming female artistes mention of how the previous generation of female artistes inspired them. And this is the same with Jinah, who draws inspiration from artistes like Juliana Kanyomozi, Iryn Namubiru and Whitney Houston.

But whereas many of us would expect her to follow in the same direction as her idols, Jinah takes the dancehall route.
Bella has been enjoying the monopoly Her two songs, Fasi and Dodo, were enough to blow up her ego, consequently earning her the title ‘Uganda’s dancehall queen’ from her believers.

But with the arrival of Jinah, indications are that Bella has gotten a potential contender for that title.

Jinah, 22, (real name Regina Atuhairwe) is a dancehall star in her own right. A few months ago, Jinah defiantly kicked down the local industry music doors and announced her arrival with Batisa.

A very catchy melody, the poetic lyrics (though not too clever), Jinah’s impressive vocal delivery and the finesse in the production are some of the factors that make this track a great listen.

A potential breakthrough hit, this the kind of song that makes it quite easy to get carried away.

Just a few months after its release, Batisa is among the top ten songs on Dembe FM, Radio Simba, Beat FM and Akaboozi Kubiri.
