EDITOR—I read Richard Todwongâ€s article on August 23 entitled “Mao, come to the banquet and eat what you wantâ€. I think African politics is all about joining the banquet and eating.
It seems to be one of the major achievements of Uganda and Africa as a whole. The commercialisation of politics is paramount! African politics is a game of self- enrichment at the expense of the masses.
The opulent lifestyle that African politicians adopt at the expense of the masses is very unhealthy. I beg Todwong to leave Mao alone because if Mao joined the banquet, issues like the ungerminating seeds and fake pangas for the resettlement of the displaced people would remain unaddressed.
