RESIDENTS of Koch-Goma sub-county, Amuru district, have accused the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) of encroaching on their land.
They say UWA dug trenches to prevent stray animals from Murchison National Park from entering the sub-county through their land without permission.
John Bosco Okullu, the LC3 chairman, said UWA should have consulted the residents before carrying out the work.
UWA recently told Amuru district leaders that they would receive sh100m every year for three years to dig up trenches along the sub-counties bordering the park to prevent animals from destroying people’s crops and property.
