PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni has appointed three new resident district commissioners (RDC), including Elizabeth Ayume, widow of former attorney general Francis Ayume, writes Geresom Musamali and Patrick Okino.
a State House statement issued yesterday said Mrs. Ayume was appointed Koboko RDC.
Museveni also appointed the Rev. Yeko Ongora Atwai, a former National Resistance Council (NRC) member and former board chairman of The New Vision Corporation as Amolatar RDC. The district was recently curved out of Lira. Joan Pacuto, an educationist, was appointed Lira RDC.
Amelia Kyambadde, the president’s principal private secretary, said the appointments take immediate effect.
Joan Pacuto replaces Peter Ken Locap, who resigned to contest for the LC5 chairmanship of Moroto district on the NRM ticket.
Atwai has been the Amuka political commissar since 2004 when he joined the force.
