CENTRAL youth MP Rose Namayanja was among the first batch of legislators to join the eighth parliament on Friday after she did not get a competitor for the Nakaseke Woman seat, reports Frederick Kiwanuka.

A beaming Namayanja, who won the NRM primaries, drove to the provisional district headquarters where she was declared MP-elect.

After being declared MP-elect, Namayanja and her supporters chanted NRM slogans and danced as they drove in a convoy through Kiwoko town.

Meanwhile, Nakaseke NRM candidate Syda Bumba is to tussle it out with Joe Senteza, a Democratic Party member, as well as Sempala Mbuga and Paul Luttamaguzi, both standing as independent candidates.
