OPENING batsman Roger Mukasa has been dropped after failing to score a run in two games as Uganda tries to get the solid batting start needed to compete at the U-19 cricket World Cup.

Arthur Kyobe, who has been opening with Mukasa, moves down the batting order against Bangladesh today.

The Asiatic Sports-sponsored U-19 national team play their last group match after losing to defending champions Pakistan and New Zealand.

“I think we have tried our opening partnership and it has failed. It is time to try another combination,” Ligyalingi said.

Dennis Musali, Emmanuel Nakana, Patrick Ochan, Ronald Semanda and Davis Arinaitwe have been stepped up the batting order.

They face a Bangladesh side eager to make it to the quarter-finals for the first time.

At the last World Cup they hosted, they won the consolation Plate Cup by beating Australia.
