KAMPALA mayoral candidate Hasib Kabuye Takuba has predicted a 65% win.

Takuba said, “I am standing on a Democratic Party (DP) ticket, which is strong in the city. It has been leading and has worked so well,” he said.

He said he had the experience, having served in the city council for six years.
“During this time, we have done different things, which people appreciate and would like continuity,” Takuba, a former city secretary for health, said.

He said traffic, drainage, sanitation and security had been started on but needed improvement.

“We have made studies like the Kampala Master Drainage Study to fight floods in city suburbs and the Kampala Urban Traffic Improvement programme, which looks into widening roads, installing traffic signals and creating taxi parks outside the city centre,” Takuba, who has a PhD in human medicine, said.

Takuba is the chairman of the Uganda Red Cross in Kampala Central and a member of the board at Mulago School of Nursing and Midwives.

Mariam nalunkuuma reports that Takuba’s rival Nasser Sebaggala has predicted a 75% win and asked his supporters to look out for the clenched fist symbol on the ballot paper.
