Govt and Nsaba Buturo have made false promises

Mar 22, 2006

SIR — It is dishonesty to make pledges willingly and never fulfil them. In 2005 the Government promised the people of Kisoro to construct the Kabale-Kisoro road but up to now not even a centimetre has been worked on.

SIR — It is dishonesty to make pledges willingly and never fulfil them. In 2005 the Government promised the people of Kisoro to construct the Kabale-Kisoro road but up to now not even a centimetre has been worked on.

Several communications have been made by the government verbally and in the press about this road but nothing tangible has ever been done. The information minister, Dr Nsaba Buturo made another promise about relaying UBC TV and establishing an FM radio station by the end of 2005 but up to now there is nothing on the ground.

The people of Kisoro have waited patiently for the fulfilment of these promises but in vain. For how long will Ugandans be held hostage to politicians’ lies? The Bible likens a person who promises and never delivers to a cloud that never brings rain!

I remind the government and Nsaba Buturo to deliver in this new term of office so that they are not seen as liars once again!

SIR — Is there any chance that the Kabale-Kisoro road will ever be built? We are tired of liars!
