When it comes to water storage, tanks are the ideal products for keeping water safe. Schools, hotels, hospitals, large farms, restaurants and industries need tanks.
Plastic tanks such as those made by Crestanks in Industrial Area, Kampala, have an edge over the metallic ones. Galvanised and panel type metal tanks are affected by rust, develop leakages and have a short life span.
Besides storing water, you may need other water related products like swimming pools or you may want to treat your water. Davis and Shirtliff based in Kampala, deal in water pumps, water treatment and swimming pools.
Davis and Shirtliff products include water pumps specially designed for remote sites that have no electricity. These pumps are solar-powered.
“The revolutionary SQFlex will have a major impact on improving the lives of some of the poorest people in Africa,” says Ephraim Wainana, Davis and Shirtliff Uganda’s managing director.
The solar pumps cost sh16m, have a 12-month warranty and are installed at a fee of sh1.5m-sh2m.
The comprehensive range of pumps includes over 300 different models and sizes for irrigation, drainage, sewage, hot water, chemical dosage, domestic and hand powered applications.
There is a variety of special duty pumps for industrial, agricultural and commercial use. The entire range of pumps cost between sh130,000 to sh25m, but Wainana explains that their purposes, capacity, warranties and capability of doing a particular job differ.
With water tanks, the choice is entirely yours as there is something for everyone both in cost and capacity. The Crestanks range between 150-24,000 litres and their cost ranges is between sh53,000-sh6.25m respectively.
