THE government has earmarked sh113m for supporting orphans and vulnerable children in Kaberamaido district to get education, reports Bill Oketch.

The officer in charge of the Kaberamaido HIV/AIDS control project, George William Ebulu, said 44 Community Led HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI) groups would benefit from the programme.

“My office has received CHAI funds transfer circular from Uganda HIV/AIDS control project (UACP) on March 3, 2006 for 44 CHAI groups to the tune of sh113million,” Ebulu said recently.

He said the money would also be used to provide support to households affected by HIV/AIDS and to improve the affected persons’ capacity to produce crops and animals to improve their standard of living.

The money has been sent to those community HIV /AIDS accounts,” the deputy Chief administrative Officer (CAO), Geoffrey Okaka , said.
