THE government has earmarked sh113m for supporting orphans and vulnerable children in Kaberamaido district to get education.
The officer in charge of the Kaberamaido HIV/AIDS control project, George William Ebulu, said 44 Community Led HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI) groups would benefit from the programme.
â€œMy office has received CHAI funds transfer circular from Uganda HIV/AIDS control project (UACP) on March 3, 2006 for 44 CHAI groups to the tune of sh113million,â€ Ebulu said recently.
He said the money would also be used to provide support to households affected by HIV/AIDS and to improve the affected personsâ€™ capacity to produce crops and animals to improve their standard of living.
The money has been sent to those community HIV /AIDS accounts,â€ the deputy Chief administrative Officer (CAO), Geoffrey Okaka , said.
