CHESTER Williams, the new technical director of the Uganda Rugby Union (URU) arrives from South Africa today to start work with the national team.
Williams, a former Springboks player, will first serve for six months as he guides the Rugby Cranes in their campaign for qualification for the 2007 World Cup slated for France.
Williams will work alongside local coach Yayiro Kasasa who has been solely handling the national team for the last seven years.
The 37-year-old tactician, who was also South Africa’s 1994 player of the year, will be in charge when Uganda takes on Morocco in the return leg of the IRB 2007 World Cup qualifiers on September 2.
Uganda lost the first leg 36-3 to Morocco in a one-sided game in Casablanca last week.
