VICTOR FC head coach Sula Kato has challenged his lead striker Yuda Mugalu to justify his status as one of Cranes best forwards when his side encounters Kampala United at Nakivubo stadium today.
Mugalu, who has since the start of the season gathered only six goals, will lead the fifth-placed side’s search for glory. Victor need the win to turn the heat on their closest opponents Police FC, in third, and KCC FC in fourth place. “We rely on him (Mugalu) so much.
He is our key figure especially now that Phillip Ssozi has still failed to impress,†Kato said yesterday.
With Oscar Mande getting better and better in the heart of the club’s midfield, Victor are favourites to register their 11th win of the season over a Kampala United side, whose only win of the season came way back in March against Super Cubs.
Elsewhere, the relegation showdown at Wankulukuku between KB Lions and Super Cubs will be filled with more tension than any other tie this week.
Cubs, despite their valiant efforts in picking up points against giants this season, are still rooted to the bottom of the table.
Defeat for either side today will spell disaster as this should be the easiest fixture for either to win. Meanwhile, the game involving defending league champions Police and Masaka that was due to be played yesterday was postponed to June 28.
