In Africa, one can access only eight television channels via Jump TV from six countries – Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Rwanda. UBC TV is also available on JumpTV.com.
JumpTV.com is a subscription service that is billed monthly. For $9.95 (sh18,000) per month (high speed) or $5.95 (11,000) per month (dial-up), you can have access to a selected channel(s) 24 hours a day, as long as you have access to the Internet. Via Jump TV, you can get high quality international television in 34 countries without the hassle and complication of installing and maintaining a satellite dish.
Jump TV enables you to view a channel of your choice even when there are no satellite services where you are.
However, subscription sharing is prohibited. It is not allowed to use an account from more than one computer at a time. In such cases, Jump TV will automatically disconnect both computers using the same account and lock the account until you log in again.
“This shows that WBS is ready to beat off competitors in the broadcasting business,†WBS proprietor Gordon Wavamunno said.
