Four people from one family have died from suspected poisoned porridge.
Seven others were admitted to Lyantonde hospital in critical condition after eating the millet porridge on Saturday.
The incident occurred at Lwetamo in Kacheera sub-county in Rakai district.
The victims first complained of stomach pains, got swollen stomachs, diarrhoea and vomiting that intensified in the evening.
They were taken to Kacheera health centre where one died. Two others died on arrival at Lyantonde Hospital.
Doctors said the fourth person died yesterday due to excessive diarrhoea.
The hospital superintendent, Dr. Katumba Ssentongo, ruled out cholera, but said they were carrying out further tests to establish the cause of the deaths.
He said his staff was sensitising the public about a possible cholera outbreak because four people had been reported dead in the neighbouring district of Rakai where the victims came from.
Fridah Kiiza, one of the patients and the head of the family, identified the deceased as Reilla Kasiina, 14, Erina Kandida, 8, Damanseen Kiiza, 14 and Robinah Nsaba, 20.
