Eligible, social but would you catch their attention?

Every few years, a new group of young (and old) men join the bachelor club in this city.

However, there are some bachelors, who, by virtue of their careers, social and economic standing or public conduct, draw more attention to themselves. Sebidde Kiryowa and Elvina Nawaguna look at the latest crop of Kampala’s eligible bachelors

Mitch Egwang
He is one of the smartest blocks in town that can crack jokes worth laughing at. He started pursuing money whilst still at school.

He has a pretty interesting lifestyle. He spent six years in university pursuing a veterinary medicine degree and wound up being a radio DJ! Hmmm. But he has the brains alright, height, humour and an agreeable personality to go along with it. Now, all he needs is Miss Right to complete the puzzle.

Gilbert Wavamunno, Sales director, Spear Motors
Now, ladies, this would be the ultimate catch. This young man in his late 20s is the very definition of debonair. He is urbane, sophisticated and rich! He drives a C-Class Mercedes Benz and knows how to look after himself (talk about well-groomed). Nothing less to expect from a Wavah you might say, but this boy also has his own brains.

Unfortunately, he is hitched (sorry ladies). He has been moving out with his girlfriend for years and sources close to him tell us they might just decide to walk down the aisle one of these days.

Justice Geoffrey Kiryabwire
At close to 50 years of age, family and friends are concerned about the fact that this senior lawyer is not even on the path to the aisle yet. And they should. Apart from being loaded, Kiryabwire hails from a fairly affluent family and holds a master’s degree in commercial law from a university in the UK.

What more could a woman ask for? Yet, cupid’s arrow still eludes his heart.

His last attempt at a stable relationship was a futile one. But, if it is any comfort, this is not something exclusive to him. Apparently, most of his close family is still single. It runs in the family, you might say.
