The Ministry of Education has allowed Kako Secondary school to re-open, after it was closed last term following a strike, reports Eddie Ssejjoba.
In a May 20 letter, the ministry directed that the current headmaster, Labban Bukenya, remains in charge.
The board of directors and the foundation body had requested the ministry to transfer Bukenya, insisting that he was the cause of the confusion at the school that caused the students to strike last term.
The commissioner for secondary education, John Agaba, directed that the board constitutes a committee composing student leaders and parents to investigate the unrest at the school.
“The finance committee should ensure the money owed to the school is paid,” Agaba said.
