MUKONO — The chairman, Godfrey Ddamulira has urged teachers to take up authorship and win international writer’s awards. “Our teachers are as good as those in Britain and can win these international best authors awards and accolades,” Ddamulira said at the Macmillan publishers (U) Ltd’s new book launch at Colline Hotel.

Orphans get
KABAROLE — The Alliance for Youth Achievement (AYA) has offered scholastic materials worth sh1m to orphans. The director AYA, Mary Abigaba, said Muhangi, Bunyonyi and Kiburara primary schools were among the beneficiaries. AYA assists widows and orphans.

Sh1.3b for FAL
MUKONO — The Iceland Government under their project Iceland International Development Agency has given sh1.3b to boost Functional Adult Literacy (FAL) education programme. “Government values education a lot and has encouraged programmes like UPE and FAL,”said Godfrey Ddamulira, the district chairman.
